Preschool and Kindergarten

Every child develops at his or her own pace and deserves to be treated as a unique individual created by God for a specific purpose.

Spiritual Formation

At Heartland Christian, our preschool and kindergarten lay a foundation for a lifetime of learning. Through the Kingdom integration of church, family, and school, students move from preschool and kindergarten prepared for the next levels of learning.

Approach

Heartland Christian School prepares preschool and kindergarten students for elementary classwork with a developmentally appropriate approach to instruction.  Students will experience a multi-sensory approach for pre-writing skills, phonics, numbers, social studies, science, music, and art.  Because we seek to develop our students as whole individuals, the body and spirit will also play a role in education.  Preschool and elementary students have recess or PE each day, and there is an emphasis on Biblical studies, with daily prayer times, discussing Bible stories, memorizing verses, and attending weekly all-school chapels.  Students will develop social skills and learn how to interact with others in the classroom.  There may also be special events, such as classroom parties and pep rallies in which the students may participate.
